Natural light. A gray day, an open field and a big sky. I enjoy the way light or the absence of it changes the way we see everything.
I paint en plein air as well as in my studio. I rely on using watercolors and pen and ink when I travel and take notes on color and atmosphere so I can produce larger works when I return.
I could have included those paintings I did when I was ten years old at the beach with my family in Connecticut, but felt going back just a few year’s was enough!
I love seeing a snapshot of where my paintings have found a new home. And I am also grateful for the private or group exhibits I have been invited to participate in.
